YESTERDAY The lady at the British Food store down the street from us wagged her finger in our faces. “If your going to visit England and you don’t have a great time -- it’s your own fault.” Sal and I wanted to visit the British Isles ever since we were in high school and witnessed the British Invasion. Sal, a musician, wanted to do Liverpool and the Beatles. Me, being an artist, had planned to experience the culture and it’s landmarks for inspiration. Sal and I decided on the seven day London tour, adding three full pre-tour days in Liverpool. When our travel agent said the round trip out of Ireland would be our cheapest flights, we added a few more days of post-tour to “pull a few” in Dublin. We planned and paid for as much as we could before leaving home. Though our cats weren’t too happy over us going on vacation, excitment over came us as we realized we were about to achieve one of our life-long dreams.
